Brief description:
The fair of St George is organised every year, on the feast day of the patron Saint and protector of Paralimni, St. George the Trophy Bearer, on April 23rd. It is a great traditional artistic event through which old customs of Paralimni are revived. It includes performances re-enacting scenes from our tradition, traditional songs and dances by the Cultural Association “Anemoessa” of the Metropolitan Cathedral of St George in Paralimni as well as other participants. According to tradition, the connection between Paralimni and the Saint begins from very old times, when the Saint appeared before the inhabitants who were building the church, telling them that he would be the patron of the village.
